• Re: ASM2 Fractionation model

Okey, that is good to know, thank you!

You mention "... see the defractionation model.". When I added TP to my defractionation model in the general tab and chose Custom, WEST placed the new TP output component by itself, ie. without connections to anything.

How do you suggest it shall be linked? I have linked it to the variable Org_P with the fraction 1 and to the input component S_PO with the fraction 1. Is this correct?

    Thank you

  • ASM2 Fractionation model

    Hey!

I am modelling in ASM2d and Im using the default fractionation, but I want to make some changes.

    First change:
Im adding the new component TP (total phosphorus). In the fractionation, Im linking it to the output component S_PO with the fraction f_S_PO that I put to around 0.5. Is this a good way of doing it? And Im wondering what happens to the other 50% of the TP?

    Second change:
I dont want my COD_X to be dependent on the TSS. So Im removing the link between them and connects the COD_X to COD and removes the link between COD_X and COD_S. The fraction between COD and COD_X is set to 0.6 and the fraction between COD and COD_S is set to 0.4. TSS is now only connected to the output component X_TSS. So what Im wondering here is what happens to my TSS? Will it still be involved in reactions?

I hope I made myself clear
    Thanks alot!

  • Re: Sensor for soluble- and particulate COD

    Thanks for your answer Enrico!

How do I "...modify the standard multi-probe model by adding those quantities..."?

    Thank you!
  • Sensor for soluble- and particulate COD

    Hey!

I want to know S_COD and X_COD in the middel of my model. But by adding a sensor, I can only receive data for the smaller fractions (like S_I, X_H, X_I etc.). I can receive this kind of information (S_COD and X_COD ) from a waste-block or out-block, but not in the middel of my model.

Is there a way to solve this?

    Thanks a lot!

  • Re: SRT in AS-unit

Thanks for your answer Enrico. I still have two questions/problems though:

    1. I know that the SRT should be around 1,5-2 days. Cant I skip the calculation part and feed an SRT value directly?

    2. If Im using a process calculator to get the y_SRT and feeding it to a data treatment block, my SRT becomes the y_M of this block. So I want to feed this to the AS-unit, but the only options I can choose in the interface link are Kla and Temp. How can I let my AS-unit know that the y_M is the SRT?

    Thanks a lot!
  • SRT in AS-unit

Im modelling in ASM2d and Im trying to understand how to modify the sludge retention time in my activated sludge units. Is it possible and how do I do it?

If it matters: I have 3 separate activated sludge lines with 5 units on each line (to mimic that each activated sludge unit has 5 compartments).

    Many thanks :)
  • Effluent Model set up (tutorial2014)

    Hej!

Im really a beginner at West and Im trying to do the Getting started tutorial 2014, but I got stuck trying to create the effluent model (p. 43).

I have double-clicked the output block (wastewater effluent) and added the BOD component (Ive also set it to Custom units, ASM1Temp as input and applied conversion F to C). When conducting the defractionation, Im using the WEST.ASM1.Output.Layout.xml (just as the instructions) but the result does not look like the result on the picture (figure 6.12). E.g. my outgoing variable BOD is not connected to anything and I have 3 incoming variables in the bottom not connected to anything (S_ALK, S_NO and S_O). When Im trying to generate nothing happens.

I hope Ive made myself clear. Any help would be so much appreciated :)
