• Re: single node time series assignment and BC switching off

...and I can answer to the second question too:

    1) assuming that a .pow file has already been created with all needed time series (TS), each having its own ID,

    2) it's possible export the node number (NN) for each node on wich we want to assign a time series

    3) in excel join TS and NN (on the basis of xy coordinate, for example) and save it in a  X,Y,TS,NN  .dat file

    4) load in feflow both .pow file (time series) and .dat file (X,Y,TS,NN)

    5) link TS field with parameter of interst (HH BC in this case) being sure to select the "Time-varyng" option in the Parameter Association form.

It's triky workaround but it works.

  • Re: single node time series assignment and BC switching off

I can answer to myself to the second question:

in Feflow 6.2 time series it's possible to switch off a BC of any kind!

  • Re: How to editing already set Multilayered well BC

    Many thanks Carlos,

    your post is very useful!

I'll proceed with installatione of Feflow 6.2 in the next days, license should be available for me.

  • single node time series assignment and BC switching off

    Hi guys,
I've a pair of questions for those of you that are skilled with time series and BC assignment.

I've realized a 3D model of a river valley, with constant hydraulic head BC to simulate both upstream groudwater level and the sea. Also the river has been represented by using a constant hydraulic head BC on the nodes along the river track.
Model has been calibrated in steady state and now I have to pass to transient flow with 5 time steps.

    1)
Problems came from the river:every node along the river track has a own Hydraulic Head BC value, these values assigned on the basis of ground level of the node (by using the "current expression" tool).

How can I assign the time series (pair of values for each time step) to each node all at once?
It is possible to  assign a time series using one of available tools like assignment by expression?

    2)
considering the five time steps how can I turn off the Constant hydraulic head BCs along the river in the third time step, i.e.:

    Time step --- BC
    1        --- BC#1
    2        --- BC#2
3        --- no assigned Hydraulic head BC
    4        --- BC#4
    5        --- BC#5

    Is it possible?
    How?

Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Re: How to editing already set Multilayered well BC

    Ok,

there are not so many wells in my model, so I think I'll re-edit them each time.

    many thanks adacovsk!

  • Changing k values - No variation in the solution

    Hi guys,
even if I change K values in a 3d model (from 1e-2 to 1e-6 m/s) the solution (water table) doesn't change.

May be I had accidentally selected or flagged an option that could explain this behaviour.

    Thanks for any idea.

  • Re: How to editing already set Multilayered well BC

    Nobody can help?
  • #2 - extraction well induces groundwater rising

    Hi guys,
I've just another question about multilayered well boundary condition.

In a simple model (dimension 1km*3km), with Kx,y,z = 0.001m/s everywhere, I've placed a well (8640m3/d) in a point (central in respect to the upstream end downstream BC but near a river BC) where start groundwater level is rather 7.2m a.s.l.

After simulation (with convergence) feflow shows (at large scale) a downhill groundwater table around the well, as expected,  but close to it (say 15/20m radius or so) groundwater starts to rise up to 7m a.s.l. (or it remains similar to the original groundwater level).

Any idea on how it is possible?

    thanks

  • How to editing already set Multilayered well BC

    Hi guys,
can somebody show me the correct procedure to edit an already assigned multylayered well BC (Feflow 6.1)?

I've placed some of these BC in my model but I'm not able to vary any attribute (punping rete) unless I delete the well and completely re-assign it.

What is the procedure (or the right button) to edit a multilayered well BC?

    thanks in advance.
