• Using IfmSetZ in a free and moveable model

    Hi All,

Would the IFM function IfmSetZ work in a model using Free and Moveable slices, or does the BASD technique overrides it?

  • Non-vertical prisms in Feflow 6.2

    Hi All,

I've been to a presentation from Fabien Cornaton and Alex Renz on Feflow 6.2 preview in june last year. The presentation mentioned that the use of non-vertical prisms would be available in Feflow 6.2, but I couldn't find it anywhere in the GUI?

Do you know whether this feature has been really implemented? If yes, how do I access it from the GUI?

    Best regards,

    Eduardo
  • Re: 64 bit compilation VC++ 2010 Pro

I'm having the same issue in the same problem. Old 32bits VS2008 plugin, now trying to compile on VS2010 with Windows 7 64bits.

My DLL is built but I'm not able to register it even manually.

    Cheers,

  • Heat transport - Injection well without specifying temperature

    Hi all,

Consider a heat transport simulation in feflow. If I apply a well condition or flux condition injecting water into the model, without specifying its heat (either via constant temp. or heat flux), which temperature (or heat) feflow apply to this water?

    Thanks in advance,

    Eduardo
  • Doubt regarding transfer rates (3rd type boundary)

    Hi all,

I've being trying to use transfer rates in my simulations but I got confused. From the feflow help I've checked that the transfer rate is approximately the conductivity of colmation layer divided by its thickness.  Analysing the units, that would give :

        (length/time) / length  , which would result in 1/time

However, when I tried to apply the transfer rates in Feflow the unit that appear in the Keyboard request box was 10-4 m/d, which equates to length/time.

Could anyone help to understand this?

    Regards

  • Re: Possible bug in Feflow 5.4

Just another comment, I use ASCII format in Feflow for quite some time, and I never had this problem in Feflow 5.2 and 5.3.!
  • Possible bug in Feflow 5.4

    Hi all,

I think I picked a bug in Feflow 5.4 and I would like to check if someone have the same problem.

I'm using ASCII FEM and DAC files for some cross section models, and sometimes when I load them, the conductivities showed by the mesh inspector are the values in m/d which I specified in the FEM files. When I see that, I close Feflow, start it again, reopen the same file and then conductivity values are properly converted to 1E-4m/s.

    Cheers,

    Eduardo
  • Re: Exporting pressures

    Hi Peter,

Once again, thanks for the help.
In this model I think that interpolation is probably not the issue, as when I export the heads to surfer grids, they match exactly with the ones from the feflow screen.

After checking that, I also noticed that the surfer grids for pressure and head are exactly the same, so I'm not sure what is going on.

The model is basically a 2d cross section when we are trying to get some pore-pressures. We have rainfall recharge at the bottom and a constant head in the east side to represent the sea, which is mostly and outflow zone.
  • Exporting pressures

    Hi All,

I'm trying to get some pressures out of a feflow simulation, but I'm not understanding the results.

When I go to "Halt and view results" and ask it to show in the screen, I see values up to 6400 kPa, however, when I export the same pressures as a surfer grid, I get maximum values of 1090.

Are the values from the surfer grid  in a different unit, or are they calculated differently?

    Regards,

    Eduardo
  • Re: miscalculation

This also might be happening if you are using confined layers. In this case, your are not simulating dewatering, but rather depressurization, since when you choose confined layers, you assume that the layers are fully saturated, regardless of the boundaries you are using.
