Besides unstructured meshing, GEODE offers advanced supermesh repair functionalities, which can be utilized to simplify, correct and process imported triangulated surfaces. The GEODE toolbox integrates seamlessly with other FEFLOW geometrical tools. The user can for example extend model domains to 3D or clip planes to model boundaries. The re-triangulation tool further supports regular triangulation for any model structures, which is the foundation for a high-quality meshing process.

Once the unstructured mesh is generated, an extended parameterization dialogue of the GEODE meshing algorithm enables local refinement of subdomains (blocks) or add-ins such as polylines or surfaces. All of those structures can be combined with individual geometrical constraints. Inclined boreholes or mining adits can be represented as edge selections with maximum edge lengths to define the element size around these structures.

This video tutorial - FEFLOW | 3D supermesh repair and remeshing panel - demonstrates the repair and triangulation tools of GEODE and how geometrical structures can be added as mesh items and parameterized for the following meshing process.
