Question
Why should I migrate from MIKE URBAN to MIKE+ Collection Systems (CS)?

Answer
Over the years, MIKE URBAN users have provided DHI with a lot of valuable feedback and ideas. When developing MIKE+ Collection Systems (CS), DHI’s next-generation integrated urban modelling software, we have made several major improvements that should expand collection system modelers’ user experience.

Below are the top 5 reasons to migrate to MIKE+:

#01 - Create better models faster
Collection System models can be more easily set up thanks to a fully customisable Graphical User Interface. Benefit from enhanced import/export functionalities, model versioning, an improved map-based environment, a new Scenario Manager and GIS-based model building tools. This unified platform also makes the creation and maintenance of coupled models easier. In addition, MIKE+ CS comes with tools, automatic data validation and warnings to make sure your collection system model is optimally configured to produce the highest quality results.

#02 - Visualise and share your results easily
The result viewing experience has also been tremendously improved when compared with MIKE URBAN. The map-based environment allows you to animate and visualise your results in an intuitive way. The result differences tool provides easy-to-understand information about the impact of different scenarios in your collection system. In addition, new reporting and video recording functionalities make it easier to communicate your results with stakeholders. Plus, you can also share results with your team easily thanks to the free result viewing version.

#03 - Create bigger models with your team
In MIKE+, your data is stored in a fast SQL database (SQLite or PostgreSQL format) which makes it smoother to handle big datasets. This set-up also enables a multi-user approach where different modellers can work on a different part of the model in parallel, to meet your project’s deadlines.

#04 - Tap into a rich ecosystem of software
Thanks to the integration with MIKE Cloud, you can now run simulations in the cloud and easily access the hardware required to deliver your project on time. You can also store your models and results in the cloud for archiving and sharing purposes.
The MIKE+ ArcGIS integration enables access to the sophisticated spatial processing technologies of ArcGIS for more efficient preparation of spatial data and visualisation of model outputs. You can also tap into the wealth of visualisation and reporting tools from ArcGIS online. The MIKE WaterNet Advisior provides cloud access to your model, scenarios, simulation and results from phone, tablet or other mobile devices.

Note: MIKE+ can be purchased as a standalone product, or as part of a MIKE+ ArcGIS version which also provides an ArcGIS license.

#05 - Future-proof your urban collection system modelling

There are many improvements in MIKE+ 2023 which will grow over time such as:

•    A Hydrodynamics (HD) Network Analysis Tool to enable quality assurance of your model configuration
•    Full integration of your collections system models and water distribution system, allowing to use DHI EPANET, EPASWMM and our powerful numerical engine MIKE1D.
•    Couple your collection system seamlessly to river as well as 2D (MIKE 21 FM)
•    Advanced autocalibration of the RDI model
•    Integration with Future City Flow for use in real time systems

Thanks to the powerful model conversion tools, all those features are only a few clicks away!
