• Feflow 5.2 dongle non recognised on a windows7 machine

    Hi all,

Is there a patch or a specific pilot to have a feflow 5.2 dongle recognized on windows 7 ?

    Thanks,

  • Re: corrupt 1D Fracture element (e = ...)

I did some tests with a small symbolic model and finally ... I am confused. It seems like using the 3Rd type bndry and the in or out transfer rate, we can easilly decide if the boundary feeds or drains or can do both. But the same options with the 1D element appear to be useless. The default values for in and out in discrete elements are 0, nonetheless the elements seem to work with such and the result is not sensitive to whichever value you assign. :-\
  • Re: corrupt 1D Fracture element (e = ...)

    Thanks Bastian !
Another question related to the discrete elements. I am simulation channels on slice 1, with the Manning Strickler 1D element. I can't find the way to make sure that my element only drains the aquifer and doesn't feed it. Or/ is there a way to only allow water to get into the element ?

    Cheers,

  • Re: Specific storage vs drain fillable porosity in unconfined

I finally get into equations with the help of colleagues. Maybe the first step is difficult but finally it is very helpful. What we understood is that Feflow takes into account a combination of Sy and Ss, Ss being multiplied by a pressure related term. In my case I estimated that if Ss is under 0.001, it will be negligeable with Sy > 0.1, because the pressure term will be always less than 200 m of water. Is this something that seems reasonnable, without going into details ?

    Thanks,

  • Re: Budget

Just looking at your previous post. Is this budget with salinity option ON ? Maybe you can try to turn it OFF and check if your discrepancy is still that high ?
    Good luck !

  • Re: Budget

Just to be sure ... it seems like your recharge is in the order of 3000 mm/y (I divided Neumann by the model area). Is this realistic ? Also you may try the in/out flow from top function instead of the flux (Neumann) boundary type. It is less complicate to manage.

Also you may try to figure out if the error message (invalide pointeur, hidden layer porosity thing, etc) are important for the quality of the model.

    Good luck !
  • Re: Save binary DAC as ASCII DAC

As described in this page it is possible to save an Ascii dac
    http://www.feflow.info/html/help/default.htm?turl=HTMLDocuments%2Fmorehelp%2Fdocumentation.htm

In F6 when you click the record button (red circle), the save dac file dialog appears, which offers you the possibility between binary and ascii file. Just open the dac file with your favorite text editor. I personnaly use Notepad++, it's free and powerful

    Cheers !
  • corrupt 1D Fracture element (e = ...)

    Hi,

I am simulating a network of underground mine galeries, with the 1D element option of Feflow. When running the model a log message appears (that doesn't prevent to run the model):
WARNING: Corrupt 1D fracture element (e = 748) found. Deletion
So if I understand the 1D element n°748 is not taken into account (deletion) in the run. I have the same message for a couple more elements.

How can I find the element that causes this warning ? I don't find a way to export the 1D elements with their ID, or to display those ID in Feflow. Also what usually create those warning ? Location, element parameters ?

My elements are crossing each others sometime. Is this alllowed ?

    Cheers !

  • top of a hill quarry

    Hello
I have to simulate a quarry on the top of a granite hill. Nearbye we surveyed some small springs located in some small valleys coming from the hill in question. Those springs will likely be used as bcs for the model. However I have no clue how to set up the bcs in the areas that are between the springs. In this area there is very likely a groundwater flow from the hill but we have not enough data (piezometers, velocities, gradients, etc) to constrain those. Any suggestions ?

    Thanks !
  • 45° drainage gallery crossing different layers

    Hello Feflow forum,
How would you set up a drainable gallery in a low K fractured aquifer, if this gallery has  a 45° dip crossing several layers ?
    Thanks,
    Didier
