• River/Urban DHI modeller position available in Auckland

    Hi all,

I hope this is an appropriate use of the forum.  We are looking for an intermediate level modeller with Mike Urban, Mike 11, Mike 21 and Mike Flood experience to assist us with our urban and rural flood assessments.

Tonkin & Taylor is new New Zealand's leading environmental and engineering consultancy.  This reputation is built on 50 years of success through our award winning solutions and talented people.  We are proudly employee owned and operated and live and breathe our goal to be "the best to work for and best to work with".

We use DHI modelling software, but if you have experience using other software, your general modelling skills will still be of interest.

  • Catchment time of concentration

    Hi all,

We are trying to find tools which will help us calculate catchment slope along the longest flow path, and the length of the longest flow path for hundreds of small catchments.  The catchments have been determined using ArcGIS, but we are having to do a lot of manual work to determine the longest flow path within each of the catchments.

I'm sure there must be a tool out there which will do this, but all the one's we have seen don't quite measure up.

    Any ideas?

  • Mike 11 reservoirs and spillways

    Hi all,

I am trying to represent an reservoir, dam and spillway that are located along a river.  Essentially I have a  storage elevation relationship for reservoir (no cross sections) and a Qh relationship for the spillway.

Currently I am using the Regulating Structures, and the "Additional Storage Area" option in the Mike 11 cross section to represent the storage, but I feel that there may be a better way.

One of the problems is that I do not have cross sections of the reservoir so the only way I was aware of to represent the storage is to use the "Additional Storage Area" option.  Any other ideas?

    Regards

    Jon
