We are looking for a way to export the layers created in ArcMap (within Mike urban) to something Microstation will recognize. To this point we can only get a one layer single line dwg exported. ie: no line colours or line weights etc. The City of Edmonton uses Bentley Microstation V8i and is upgrading to Bentley Map soon. From what I can derive, the Arcmap product supplied with Mike Urban is a basic version which does not include full exporting ability. Does anyone else have this problem and is there a work-around.  thanks  RAB

One potential option would be to export your Mike Urban files to Epanet2 file structure.  If Microstation is similar to WaterCAD, it should be able to import your Epanet files (*.inp).  Hopefully this helps.

Cheers.

Hi,
the ArcGIS product supplied with MIKE URBAN is an ArcEDITOR (these days called: ArcGIS for Desktop Standard).
Have you tried the EXPORT to CAD tool (ArcToolbox)? Result should be a CAD readable file that conatins attributes like color and line weight.
With these attributes you should be able to (re-)symbolize your layer in Microstation.
Hope this helps...

We have figured a way to accomplish this.
We now have Bentley Map installed.
We can import the Shape file exported by MU and have set up a script in Bentley Map to re-establish the symbology and replicate what was displayed in MU.
Once in Bentley Map you can then save to Microstation.
We should be good to go.
thanks
Ron
