Creating large dfs0 files from ASCII

I'm trying to create dfs0 time series files from ASCII import.
I noticed that the import works just fine, but before I can save the newly created file, MIKE tries to display each an every single imported item in the graphics window. That process takes A VERY LONG time and eventually crashes the application for large files. Unfortunally the save Icon is not available before the time series are displayed. I have not found a method to deactivate the graphics preview.
Maybe anyone can help?
