hello,
In C:\Program Files\WASY\FEFLOW 5.3\demo\samg_benchmarks\femdata, there is "samg_test_3d_high_transient.fem"
my question is how to do a refinment in the left and right of a river like done in the example.
I tried with *.lin but il doesn't success.
Thank you.
Sana.

Dear Sana
I believe the main reason that you cannot achieve a similar result is that you have to include the respective line for the river allready while creating the supermesh. Only this way it is guaranteed that really all nodes are exactly placed on the river boundary. Subsequently you can easily refine the mesh at these locations, for instance by joining using the Supermesh.
Kind regards

Dear Wolfram,
Thank you,
I realize that is difficult to reproduce the same refinment in my case since I have done my mesh,
But I tried to do with :
-river.shp
-boundarie-river.shp
I think that I can approuve this task with the "snap " but I don't understand how it function:((
Thank you for any explanation

Dear Sana

Please simply modify the snap distance within a reasonable scale: change from pixels to reals and enter the snap distance in meters, say 1 m to 10 m, and look at the differences of the subsequent join operation.

Kind regards

Dear Wolfram,
I tried with reals as you said, but did you expect that 1 reals is equal to 1 meter???
I have read that The snapper controles the range of the mesh refinment, so why while doing: refine (reals =30 reals ) then derefine (reals=30 reals) , I don't get the initial situation???
Thanks a lot

Dear Sana

Yes, 1 real is eaqual to one meter. This does define the area for which the refinement will be applied. If you apply a derefinement afterwards at the same line you will obtain (more or less) the original situation.

Kind regards

Dear Wolfram,
As you said, I should derefine some nodes in order to obtain the original situation.
Finally the refinement was logic but unfortunately not quite similar to "samg_test_3d_high_transient.fem".
thank you for the explanations:)
Sana.
