  • Error launching Google Earth in Mike Zero

    Hi,

I'm trying to launch Google Earth in Mike Zero's Map Explorer so as to verify whether my data is using the correct CRS, however when I click the button to launch Google Earth I get the following error: "Invalid projection ('NON-UTM') setting".

I'm using this within a MIKE SHE project and I'm using MIKE 2016.

    How can I fix this?

    Best regards
  • Re: Mike Customized for flood forecasting and early warning

    Hi Futhi,

As far as I know you can integrate other software / data sources with MIKE Customized. There is a MIKE Software Development Kit tool available at DHI's website which will probably be of good use to you.

  • Re: Size of the Domain area.

    Hi Rupak,

As far as I know you don't have to worry about that as MIKE will automatically set the limits of the domain so that it contains all your data.

  • Re: How to reset the Mesh Refinement tool? [Workaround found]

    Hi Magnus,

You should be able to simply click over the graph and change the position of the vertices.

  • Re: Using MIKE 3 for modelling....

    Hello Rupak Loodh,

It looks like you have all you need to do the kind of modelling you mention. Both MIKE 21 and MIKE 3 have fields where you can define the salinity of the water and of any inflows (like outlets at the coast). ABMLab_Ecolab allows you to define the equations that define virtually any physical fenomenon you can think of, so it is appropriate to model an oil spill and it actually includes some templates to model oil spills. That being said you might have to make a few tweaks to the equations and parameters of the oil spill templates in order to assure it is adequate for the type of oil you plan on modelling. I invite you to start by doing the Ecolab tutorials, which I believe to include an oil spill example. You can then couple Ecolab with MIKE to model the oil spill in the coastal area. There are also a bunch of MIKE 3 and MIKE 21 tutorials which you might want to go through before starting your project.

  • Re: Mike Zero - Activate dfs2 table

    Hi chochen,

In MIKE ZERO there is more than one way to open a dfs2 file. On the right side pane, right-click the dfs2 file and alternately choose the various ways to open it until you find the one that allows editing. I'm sorry but I can't recall by memory which one it is and I don't have MIKE in front of me right now.

  • Re: What is the difference between MIKE 3 Flow model and the MIKE 3 Flow Model FM?

    Hi Rupak,

The flexible mesh, as the name implies, allows you to have mesh elements of different shapes and sizes. It allows you to use triangular elements, quadrangular elements or both at the same time.
The "standard" mesh only allows for square mesh elements.

The triangular mesh is more appropriate if you expect a two-dimensional flow behavior (such as in flood plains), while the standard and quadrangular meshes are better suited for one-dimensional flow behavior (such as in a river with a well defined flow direction).

Using a flexible mesh allows you to get the best of both worlds by using both triangular and quadrangular mesh simultaneously. On the downside, it is more computationally expensive than a square mesh.

What I said above is more related to MIKE FLOOD applications. If you are thinking about using MIKE 3, I assume it is because you expect a flow with a three-dimensional behavior. In that case, consider whether whether the flood on the horizontal plan is 2D or 1D and the same principles apply.

  • Re: How to add two DFS2 files based on timestep?

    Hello Praveenkhanna,

Mathieu is correct, you will have to do it manually but you can use and excel sheet to help you sort the data series in the correct temporal order before copying it to the blank grid. You can also use excel to eliminate repeated entries if that happens in your case.
