Hello everyone,
I’m relatively new to using DHI’s MIKE software suite and I’m hoping to get some
advice from the experienced users here. My main goal is to model coastal
flooding in an urban environment, specifically focusing on the impacts of storm
surges and sea-level rise. I’ve been looking into both MIKE 21 and MIKE FLOOD
but am unsure which one would be more suitable for my project.
From my understanding, MIKE 21 seems to handle 2D hydrodynamic modeling very
well, which is great for simulating water flow patterns, but MIKE FLOOD also
integrates with other modules like MIKE URBAN for 1D/2D flood modeling, which
seems useful for an urban context. Can anyone provide insights on the key
differences between these two in terms of functionality, ease of use, and
accuracy for coastal flooding scenarios?
Additionally, if anyone has any tips or resources for someone new to this field,
I would greatly appreciate it! I’m particularly interested in any case studies
or examples of similar projects that might help guide my approach.
Thanks!
