This article explains how to authorize a termed ArcGIS Desktop Single-Use License when you purchases a subscription package with MIKE+ Model manager ArcGIS included.

Background

Esri retired the traditional ArcGIS Desktop Single Use license file format and replaced it with the provisioning .prvc file for term licenses. Unlike the previous format, the .prvc file does not require a license password, as it contains all necessary authorization details.

Instead of authorizing through the DHI License Manager, as was previously done for MIKE URBAN activation, the .prvc file for a term license can now be used directly in the ArcGIS Software Authorization Wizard, which automatically fills in the required fields for a streamlined activation process.

Step by step:

#01 - Launch ArcGIS Administrator, right-click and select “Run as administrator.” See - Fig. 1.

You may need admin rights or help from your IT department.

#02 - Navigate to the Desktop section and select “Authorize Now.” See - Fig. 2.

#03 - Choose the option I have received an authorization file and am now ready to finish the authorization process, then click Browse. You will be prompted to locate your .prvc file. See - Fig. 3.

#04 -Choose the method Authorize with Esri now using the internet, and click Next. See - Fig. 4.

#05 - Fill in the required fields till the authorization shows success (not all extensions are available). See - Fig. 5.

The system will validate the license.

Once confirmed, you’ll see a summary of your authorization details. After verifying that the details and your software extensions are correct, click Finish to complete the process.

It’s that simple!

Remember, keeping your .prvc file secure is crucial, as it is tied to your software’s functionality. With your license authorized, you are now ready to use MIKE URBAN.
