Question
I would like to work with multiple event scenarios and run fast simulations without the need to go back to the boundary conditions editor and disable the conditions for other rain events?   Is it possible?

Trick

Yes, it is possible!

All you need to do is to add an event ID flag to the rainfall boundary condition description.  Below is the proposed workflow:

After you create a new event, e.g. ‘Rainfall’, boundary condition in MIKE+, go to the "Description" tab of the Boundary conditions editor and, under the description field, select the desired rainfall event recurrence interval scenario at the "Event ID" drop-down list. The list is already configured with the most common return periods for hydrological analyses such as T5, T10, T25, T30, T50 and T100 years, see - Fig. 1.

You can have as many Rainfall Boundary conditions defined in the model and for each one you can assign an Event ID flag. The default condition of Boundary condition is "0: Default (any event)" meaning that it doesn’t relate to a specific event. Once you have these boundaries identified with an Event ID you can activate them by ticking the "Apply" checkbox at the ‘Identification’ upper section of the Boundary conditions editor or at the tabular view at the bottom - see Fig. 2.

Further in the Simulation Setup you can create a general Rainfall Runoff simulation. In the 'Event ID' drop-down list you can select one of the previously defined flags to call the desired rain event, see - Fig. 3.

The simulation can be executed by simply hitting RUN but the simulation period will not adapt automatically to any rain event shift applied, hence it is a good practice to click on the "Set max.time" button before starting the simulation.
