Error

Posted 10 years ago by max
Hi,

I am having a lot of difficulties in running MIKE SHE from a hot start file.
Always the following error happens:

    Initializing Hot Start...
ERROR : OPEN OF UNFORMATTED INPUT FILE FAILED:
        Cannot open specified file
        File: F:\[...]\ProjectA.she - Result Files\ProjectA.frf.

Is there a work around to be able to run hot start simulation in MIKE SHE?
Or am I doing something wrong ?

Thanks
Max

We could solve this issue. In case someone face the same problem:
if the model file name (*.she) includes  the character "." [dot], it is interpreted as the extension separation and everything after the dot is removed when sphere file is created.

Just don't use dot in file name and everything works well (or manually correct the sphere file name by adding the missing part in case of existing simulation).

Just FYI, we have been getting similar errors and there is not dots in the file names.

The errors looks always like

ERROR  : OPEN OF UNFORMATTED OUTPUT FILE FAILED:

Cannot open the file (invalid path or read/write-protected directory

and it happens for files with extensions fif, frf, and hot.

Curiously, it happens only at a dedicated xeon-processor workstation (see hardware details at http://www.passmark.com/baselines/V8/display.php?id=35220142111) with Windows 7 Pro. Other I7 PCs have not shown this error so far.
