Hi
I often use the MapInfo Universal Translator to translate a polygon table to an shape file, that can be used in fx. MIKE ZERO/MIKE SHE, however with the newer version of MAPINFO the resulting shape file has shape defined as Polygon ZM (to hold a z-value and measure value) and not as a normal POLYGON shape file.

The MIKE SHE/MIKE ZERO don't read the Polygon ZM shape file correctly.

Solution:
My current solution is to use ArcGIS (See fx:http://forums.esri.com/Thread.asp?c=93&f=988&t=272505)
Open your toolbox window
Right click on on arctoolbox, environments, general settings
The dropdowns for output has z values output has m values (disable them both).
Now data management tools, features, copy features

I am open for better solutions without use of ArcGIS or even better adjust MIKE SHE/ZERO to read Polygon ZM shape files

Hi,

Its correct that MIKE SHE is not able to read Polygon ZM files. I use the same approach as you do (using ArcMap), and I have not been able to find any easier method for transforming the ZM polygon to a regular polygon.

Best regards

Oluf (DHI)
