Error

hi,

a balance for a transient flow model represents the change in storage as well as the residual numerical error.  in feflow 6.0, where can i separate this balance, i.e. how much of the balance comes from the change in storage and how much from the numerical error?

thanks in advance

i reviewed the previous forum in 2006.  it seems that difference between 'Budget analysis' and 'Content analysis' can give a rough estimation of numerical error.

That's right. However, if the error criterion has been chosen sufficiently low, the numerical error will be negligible.

This reminds me of a question that I have..

Is there a way of reporting the time varying flow budget in Feflow 6?  I know that in 5.4, you can run and save a full DAC file, postprocess, and export budget for all timesteps to a POW file.

Is there a similar function in version 6 that I can not find?

Cheers,
Blair.

No, this function is still missing in FEFLOW 6 Standard - you have to use FEFLOW 6 Classic for the moment. Our developers are currently working on additional budget tools, and they will be available with version 6.1 next year.
