Hallo Feflowers,

I would need a hint how to use/reconfigure an very well calibrated 2d-FLOW - Model to calculate heat transport considering the vertical heat exchange with the atmosphere through a dry layer.

Any suggestion would be highly appreciated,

Richard

Here is just a quick initial idea for further discussion: What about a transfer boundary condition for heat transport with a reference temperature equivalent to the air temperature and a transfer rate corresponding to the heat conductivity divided by the thickness of the dry layer (if it is not modelled)?

Hi Peter,
thank´s  a lot for your quick response and bright idea. One thing that is not quite clear to me is if the heat transfer boundary condition has to be set depth-integrated or not. What would you suggest as I can´t find anything about it in the books and it makes quite a difference in the results.

Please let me know,
