Hello,
I'm very new to feflow.  I want to build a  2D model representing a cross sectional view through a mountain.  The purpose is to estimate the dewatering rates for a mine decline that will be built into the mountain.  The geolocy consists of dipping strata (shales, siltstones and ore body).  I have considerable data available to me.  I'm going through the tutorial offered by feflow and a question that comes up is this.  Do I need to have shape files to import/represent the characteristics of the geologic units?

I hope this question is sufficiently clear.
Regards,

You can use a number of different file formats, including simple ASCII/text files,  for importing data into FEFLOW - shape files are just one of them. I'd recommend to have a look at the help system - "File format libarary" - for a complete list of the possible input formats.
