Error

Posted 16 years ago by Denim Umeshkumar Anajwala
Hi,

My model has a satisfactory mass balance when I used a constant recharge, but upon entering a transient recharge the mass is no longer anywhere near balancing. What is the most effective way to deal with this in FEFLOW?

Thanks.

When you run the model in transient, the 'imbalance' that FEFLOW shows is the sum of all the boundary flows. This means, that - assuming a non-existant numerical error - that it reflects the storage in the model for each time step. So when switching from time-constant to time-varying recharge, it is expected that the imbalance at time steps with a recharge change is higher than before as storage occurs.
