Breakwater?

I would kindly ask you to inform me on the following matter:
Is it possible to simulate flow through coarse porous media, concerning a submerged coastal protection structure, i.e. reef breakwater?

Darcy's equation used in FEFLOW does not consider turbulence in flow simulation. In a breakwater, however, I'd expect that turbulence is one of the governing processes.
