Hi all,

I have a doubt related to the simulation of a semi-confined aquifer in FeFLOW.

For example, if we have an alluvional plain characterized by an unconfined aquifer overlapped to a confined aquifer: is it correct to consider globally the problem as an unconfined aquifer and only set the layer related to the confined aquifer as confined ?(i.e. if we have three layers, the first is set as phreatic, the second as dependent and the third layer as confined, but the problem is set globally as an unconfined aquifer).

thanks

Yes, adopting the unconfined approach is indeed one possibility. The Introductory Tutorial addresses this question.
