Transient user data (transient reference distributions)

I'd like to create transient nodal distributions and transient element distributions.

Is this possible?

yes, under material properties, you right click what you want to make transient (like in/outflow on top/bottom), and the select "make transient"...this adds more editing options to the transient parameter and displays it differently

Sorry, I'm talking about reference distributions under "User Data", which don't sem to have that option.

No, that's currently not possible. User Data distributions are always constant in time.
