Hi,

If you specified an aquifer as confined aquifer, and in the process of pumping, parts of it becomes unconfined (i.e., there exists free surface in some parts of the domain). Is there a mechanism in FEFLOW to deal with this? The computation will change automatically from confined equation to unconfined equation? I appreciate your response.

Choose an unconfined model in this case and set the respective constraints (top-/bottom-aquifer elevations). As long as the water table touches the top, the model will automatically handeled as confined. If not, the model switches to unconfined.
