Error

Hi everybody,

I try to understand an error message which appear in my log panel at the single time of the simulation:

Time step reduction at t = 5.051142e-05 is given up after 12 cycles of rejections!)

The model is recalculating time step?? isn't it? If it's true, i do not understand why??

What is a "cycle of rejection". Each time the model do not converge??

Regards,

Terry

Using an adaptive time stepping technique, FEFLOW determines an appropriate length of the time step depending on the model dynamics. After reducing the time step a number of times (e.g., 12 in your case) FEFLOW uses the result, no matter whether convergence has been reached or not. I suspect that this happens in the first time step, where initial conditions do not closely match the expected model result.
