I am quite new of both Feflow and Pest and I am writing for advice about recharge estimation using pilot points.
I created an element selection where I want recharge to be estimated by PEST and within the parameter definition window in Pest I can choose between three different assignment methods associated with pilot points:
- Pilot points in 2D, all layers adjustable;
- Pilot points in 2D, one layer adjustable, others tied;
- Pilot points in 3D.
My main concern is that recharge is applied only to the uppermost layer, while these methods refer to all layers.
Which method should I choose and why? Do you have any reference regarding this (guides, papers, etc)?
