Question
I received an error in MIKE C-MAP saying ‘cannot find database with the specified index', why? See error message in image 1.

Answer
The error message may be due to the database not registered correctly. C-MAP supports a local installation via an e-token. The dongle, license file, and database must reside on a local drive and be uploaded from there. You can check the database registration by:

  • Opening a light version named ‘C-MAP viewer’ then click on ‘Chart Manager’ from the header

  • Under ‘Databases’ tag you will see a list of registered databases. Then choose the one you would like to view then click on ‘Add to View’. See image 2.

Image 2: check your database registration by clicking on ‘Add to view’

  • The column ‘View’ is now ticked and the background map is updated to show your purchased areas with data. See image 3.

Note: If the ‘View’ column is not ticked and the background map is not updated, this means the database is somehow registered incorrectly. To re-register the database you shall:

  • Copy and paste the database to a new folder then register the database again

  • Make sure you give Administrative rights to the folder with the database saved

  • Try to open MIKE C-MAP again
