Hi,

I'm trying to use the results of a SW model as the boundary to a BW model.  What I've noticed from the SW results is that the spectrum has changed significantly due to wave breaking so isn't well represented by P-M or JONSWAP spectrums.

Because of this I'd like to use the full output spectrum of the SW model, rather than a parameterised spectrum (Hs/Tp/dir).  It seems like this is possible but I can't work out how to pass it between models.  I need to know how to specify the output of the SW model (dfsu/dfs2?), and how to read that into the BW Random Wave Generator.

Thanks!

OK, I've worked it out.

Create a point output as Spectral Parameter(freq - dir)
Use the Wave Spectra Converter in the Mike21 Toolbox to create a 2D wave spectrum
Create a random wave using the User Defined Directional Spectrum option.

One thing that puzzles me with this is that the random wave generator still asks for 'Main wave direction' - which I would have thought was contained in the directional spectra data.  Any thoughts on this?

Regards, Ben
