How to generate a network from shapefile?

Hi,

This is achieved by following the two steps below:
- first you need to load your shape file : go to Layers \ Add/Remove... and add a new entry in the table. Click on the field "Image" to change it to "Shape file", and select the file to be loaded.
- Finally go to Network \ Generate branches from shape file. Here you should select the option "Generate points and branch".

Best regards,
Mathieu

Hi,

I tried to follow the two steps. I can see the window "Generate branches from shape file" but I can't do anything, all the options are desactivated. Why?

Hi,

This is probably because you haven't loaded any shape file.

You first need to load your shape file from the menu Layers \ Add/Remove. This has to be done prior to the conversion.

Best regards,
Mathieu

I have generated the points and branches from a shapefile, but they are not connected.
Tabular view shows the entire table of branches and points but there is no chainage defined for each branch.
How can I generate/connect points/branches and have the chainage generated in the table?

@ Tan

Your shapefile is probably a Z Shapefile. Converting it to a standard Shapefile and re-loading it should solve the issue.
